Club Manager:
Dear Members,
My name is Brian Workman and I am the new manager at Richland Country Club. I would like to share with you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Mt Carmel where my love for golf began. I was a 4 year varsity letterman at MCHS which led me to playing golf at the collegiate level at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for one year. After Leaving SIUE I decided to make my love of the game into a career in which I attended the Professional Golfers Career College in Orlando, FL. While attending there I got many opportunities to meet a lot of people that worked at some of the most prestigious clubs in America such as The Atlanta Athletic Club (host of the 2011 PGA Championship), Ilseworth (host of the Tavistock Cup), and Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge (host of multiple Q School Finals). After graduating in early 2010 I decided to come back to Mt Carmel and work at the golf course for the summer. After the summer I took a position at OCN where I headed a program called "Beat the Pro." During my tenure at OCN I was given an opportunity to go to Syracuse, NY to become of the assistant golf professionals at Timber Banks Golf Club and Marina where I spent the summer of 2011. For this year at RCC I would like the members to know that I am ready and willing to do private lessons throughout the year and the members can sign up one of two different ways. You can sign up by either calling me personally or I will have a planner in the pro shop that you will be able to sign up on if I am not there. Prices for lessons will be available soon and I will post them on the website as soon as they are ready. I would also like to inform everybody of the club companies I will be dealing with this year. I will be carrying all major brands such as Titleist, Ping, Nike, Cobra, Callaway, and Taylor Made. Whatever you need I will be able to get it for you one way or another. If you have any questions this year at the club don't hesitate to see me. With all that being said I look forward to the up coming year being your club manager for many years to come.

Clubhouse News:
The Individual Golf Membership has been extended to new members for 2012 and to individual members who joined in 2011. This will be the last year offering this membership. The goal is to have around 30 individual golf members on the books by August. The board would like to offer this membership plan to everyone at RCC but needs the membership numbers to offset the amount of members who would move to an individual membership if it was offered in 2013. The board moved in 2011 to take this conservative approach instead of offering this membership to everyone because of the unknown financial risk the club would take. The club gained 14 individual members for 2011. The club also gained 3 new full members, 10 junior members, 1 senior member, 6 non resident members and 5 social members for a total gain of 39 new memberships for 2011.
The greens fee and cart rental rate have been changed for 2012. The greens fee rate is $12.00 for 9 holes and $18.00 for 18 holes. The cart rental rate is $10.00 for 9 holes and $14.00 for 18 holes.
The Board of Directors is currently working on a Board Policies and Procedures brochure. This will help guide our new manager on all past and new rules made at the club. This will be available to all members when it is completed sometime in March. To save postage, the club will not be mailing this out since there will be several pages. We urge every members to get their copy at the clubhouse when they arrive at RCC in 2012.
If you have a Facebook page, the club is asking you to "Like Us" on Facebook (Richland Country Club). The club will be giving away one $125.00 gift certificate to use in the pro shop for all current members. Any non member will win 1 social membership. There will be only 1 winner total. The drawing will take place April 1st. So "Like Us" on Facebook and you could win!!!!!
The club will be advertising around the driveway entrance to the club over the next few months. There will be 2 signs the size of a real estate sign promoting our social membership for $125.00 and the student golf membership for $200.00. The club will also be advertising again this year on the radio and newspaper since we had such positive gain in membership in 2011.
If you did not receive an email about the website being updated and you have an email address please email the club manager your first and last name so you can be informed of news going on at the club. This will help save the club money in postage. For members who do not have an email address, copies will be made and placed in the wall mailbox located in the clubhouse or it will be mailed.
